Sailor is a celebrated neighborhood bistro in Fort Greene, Brooklyn helmed by Chef April Bloomfield and Gabriel Stulman's Happy Cooking Hospitality. We enjoy working with humans who are warm, empathetic, detail-oriented, open to feedback, and enthusiastic about being part of a team that prioritizes quality of service and mindful execution. The Sous Chef needs to possess excellent communication and time management skills. They are responsible for leading a kitchen team, running shifts, and maintaining standards. In this role, one cooks on the line while also placing daily orders, purchasing from the market, costing products, and constantly communicating with fellow kitchen leadership. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene an A grade from the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene are a must. We are currently open for daytime and evening services Wednesday to Sunday.
